Golde Superwhisk Review

Feb 22, 2024Feb 22, 2024

Earlier this year, I made the decision to cut coffee out of my diet. I reached the conclusion reluctantly, which is why I promptly went looking for relevant kitchen tools to help incentivize myself to make the switch to lower-caffeine alternatives. Faced with a pantry full of loose-leaf teas and matcha powders, I knew I was set in that department. I briefly considered springing for an electric kettle, a must-have for serious tea drinkers, before acknowledging that my countertop real estate is far too limited. Eventually, I realized what I really wanted: a milk frother to make frothy matcha and chai lattes. That’s how I came to own Golde’s Superwhisk.

The Golde Superwhisk in action.

Since purchasing this rechargeable handheld whisk this past spring, it’s become one of my most indispensable kitchen tools that I reach for no fewer than three times a week. Featuring a sleek, intuitive design, it couldn’t be easier to use. With just the press of a button (or two presses, if you want to boost its power), the metal whisk rotates rapidly, incorporating enough air in your drink to make it double in volume. I’ve used it with dairy milk, oat milk and other plant-based alternatives, and every time, I get the same great results: a fully blended latte with a thick layer of foam that doesn’t collapse. It also comes with a lid that locks securely onto the base to protect the whisk, enhancing its already-high portability, and a long USB cord for charging.

There is one thing the Golde Superwhisk most can’t do: Unlike countertop milk frothers, handheld models aren’t capable of heating up milk. They can, however, froth hot milk—you just have to warm the milk first. And one more thing worth noting: When you use this tool, make sure your latte is in an extra tall glass. If you try to use it with a small vessel, all that precious foam will splash over the rim and onto your countertops. I’m not lying when I say this frother makes a lot of foam—it’s really that good.
